Audrey Minerva King Shope, beloved wife, mother and grandmother was born Friday, July 26, 1946 in Lee County, VA and went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN at the age of 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Geneva King, siblings; Willie, George, John, Barbara and Diane, grandsons; Israel Sturgill and Kenneth Shelton. Audrey is survived by her husband James Shope of Jonesville, daughters; Naomi (Michael) Eldridge of Jonesville, Hettie (Larry) Crabtree of Woodway, Billie Jo (Vince) Berning of Indiana and Willie Mae (Gary) Berry of Pennington Gap. She is also survived by her Grandchildren; Audrey, Amelia, Junior, Jessica, Kristi, Taylor, Silas, Samuel, Jacob, Aaron, Zach, Joshua and Ashley, great-grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Ethan, Nicholas, Wesley, James, Ariana, Addyleigh and Zachary, siblings; Cecil King, Addie “Louella” King and Nellie Russell.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with David Ely officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM Friday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 for the graveside service.
