Barbara Joan Edens

Barbara Joan Edens age 87 of Dryden, VA was born Friday, May 24, 1929 and passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Nova Healthcare in Weber City, VA.  She had worked as a nurses aid for the Lee County Hospital and attended Women’s Bible Study at the First Christian Church in Pennington Gap, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Jack Edens, mother Verna Chipman, step-father Larry Chipman and one brother Joseph Dearinger. Barbara is survived by one brother Bob Dearinger and wife, Emma, sister-in-law Myra Mack of Ohio, special aunt Rudy Cooper of Alabama, cousin Ernestine Lynch of Texas, special friends Peggy Johnson and Shirley Phillips both of Pennington Gap, VA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Rev. Bob Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM Tuesday until the time of the service.
