Carolyn Ruth Jones

Carolyn Ruth Jones age 52 of the Right Hand Poor Valley Community in Pennington Gap, VA was born Monday, September 28, 1964 in Pennington Gap and passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN following a brief illness.  She was a homemaker, loved her grandbabies, family, attending the Free Pentecostal Church of God in Pucketts Creek and being called the mayor of her valley.  She was preceded in death by her father Earl Mullins, infant sister, grandparents Ida May and Curtis Pleasant and Birdie and Roscoe Mullins. Carolyn is survived by her husband Johnny Jones of the home, mother Bobbie Mullins of Pennington Gap, VA, two daughters Brittany Jones of Pennington Gap, VA and Heather Jones of St. Charles, VA, four grandchildren Gracie, Mason, Baylee and Isabella.  She is also survived by one brother Doug Mullins and wife, Shannon of Pennington Gap, VA, one sister Linda Jarnigan and husband, Dale of Jonesville, VA and two nephews Jason Jarnigan and John Galloway.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Jim Ewing and  John Britton officiating. Burial will follow at the Cecil-Fry Cemetery in Pennington Gap, VA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home.
