Chig (Harold) Bishop

Chig (Harold) Bishop of Pennington Gap, VA was born in Stickleyville, VA and passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. Harold worked for the Ford Motor Company where he was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and also was retired from the H.B Construction Company. Harold was an outdoorsman and especially liked fishing and hunting. He attended the Woodway Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Eliza Bishop; four brothers, R.C, O.T, Tom and A.V; two sisters, Justine Rasnic and Lucille Crabtree; in-laws Harry and Thelma Cantor. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Gail Bishop of the home; two sons, Harold Bishop, Jr. and wife Melodee of Greenville, SC and Stephen Bishop and wife Cynthia of Hendersonville, NC; six grandchildren, Stephen Bishop, Gary Large Jr, Melissa Raymer, Nick, Samantha and Searah Bishop; three great-grandchildren, Brianna Large, Gunter Large and Emilia Raymer; two brothers, J.D. Bishop of Tennessee and Bill Bishop of Jonesville, VA and two sisters, Helen Rasnic of Ohio and Jolene Dingus of Jonesville, VA. Also several nieces, nephews, a host of friends and his two furry friends, Abbie and Wolfie.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Wayne Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until time of services Tuesday. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Woodway, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
