Donnie Wayne "Dane" Satterfield

Donnie Wayne “Dane” Satterfield age 73 of the Stone Creek Community in Pennington Gap, VA passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at his home. Dane was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a retire coal miner, a member of the UMWA and a member of  St. Charles First Baptist Church.  He was saved and Baptized several years ago.  He was sealed till redemption.  He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed 4-wheeling, fishing and piddling around.  He was preceded in death by his parents Eckel and Ruby Satterfield, infant brother and his brother Roger H. Satterfield. Dane is survived by his wife of 49 years Dorothy Satterfield of the home, his children Gennett Garrett and husband, Scott of Jonesville, VA, Dana Satterfield of Pennington Gap, VA, Missy Kelly and husband, Jim of Keokee, VA and E.J. Satterfield and wife, Angie of the Stone Creek Community, 12 grandchildren Miranda Garrett, Ethan Garrett, Chasitee Carroll, Shawnte Goodman, William Rowe, Austin Rowe, Angelina Kelly, Jesse James Cox, Lisa Helbert, Shane Helbert, CJ Helbert and Dalton Helbert and 5 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by 1 brother Squeaky Satterfield and wife, Dottie of Pennington Gap, VA, 4 sisters Jenny Ring of Hinesville, GA, Susie McKnight and husband, Allen of Woodway, VA, Emily Greer of New Lebanon, OH, Vicki Haley of Pennington Gap, VA and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Millers Chapel Cemetery in Jonesville, VA Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Friday until the time of the service.
