Doris L. Thacker

Doris L. Thacker age 81 of Jonesville, VA was born Saturday, July 25, 1936 in Wise County, VA and passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at her home. She was a member of the Olinger Baptist Church, a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and puppies. She was preceded in death by her husband John Glenn Thacker, granddaughter Keila Marie Taylor and her parents William McKinley and Rosa Lynn Likens. Doris is survived by two sons Robert Thacker and David Thacker, three daughters Rosemary Taylor, Janie Oaks, Cecelia Thompson, eight grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Pall Bearers will be Robert Thacker, Andrew Oaks, Janie Oaks, Brian Wells, Buddy Blaken, Doug Greene and alternate Pall Bearer Penny Thompson.
