Earl Grigsby age 86 of Ben Hur, VA was born Monday, September 28, 1931 in Kentucky and passed away at his home on Thursday, November 16, 2017. He had retired from General Motors, and was a member of the United Auto Workers. Earl was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed playing the bass fiddle with the Peters Brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Gracie Grigsby, one sister Alma Grigsby, one brother Lonnie Grigsby and a half-brother Matt Moore. Earl is survived by his wife Norma Grigsby of the home, two sons Greg Grigsby and wife, Tina of Jamestown, KY, Tim Grigsby of Florida, one daughter Penny Crieg of North Carolina, two step-daughters Theresa Timmons of Elwood, IN and Lisa Moore of Lebanon, VA, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two brothers Elmer Grigsby and wife, Mildred of Alabama, Delmos Moore of Alabama and one sister Gladys Phipps of Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Tom Flora officiating.
