Ethel Jewel Byington

Ethel Jewel Byington age 71 of the Bonny Blue Community in St. Charles, VA was born in St. Charles, VA on Sunday, July 29, 1945 and passed away Tuesday, August 9. 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.  She had retired as an LPN at Carter Hall Nursing Home in Dryden, VA and had been a member of the St. Charles First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Byington, parents Earnest and Jean Ely, one brother Jimmy Ely and one sister Janice Greer. Ethel is survived by four sons Mark Byington and wife, Lisa of Duffield, VA, Shane Byington of Dryden, VA, Roger Byington of Jonesville, VA and Gary Byington of Pennington Gap, VA.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren Jeremy, Ashley, Phillip and fiancé, Ashley, Christian, Madison, Hailey, Cameron, Aidan and two great-grandchildren Murphy and Madilyne.

A funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Rick Phillips officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Wednesday until the time of the service.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Thursday to go to the cemetery.
