Mary Ruth Thomas

Mary Ruth Thomas age 74 of Pennington Gap, VA  was born on Friday,  January 9, 1943 in Lee County, VA and passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She was a homemaker, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and gardening.  Mary was of the Holiness Faith and enjoyed serving the Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Hattie Collins, brothers Billy and Eugene Collins and a sister Pauline Biggs. Mary is survived by one son Gerald “Bud” Thomas, Jr. and wife, Sherry of Jonesville, VA, one daughter Carol Ward and husband, David of Dryden, VA, two granddaughters  Kendra Hylton and husband, Charles of Pennington Gap, VA and Emily Burgin of Dryden, VA and one sister Maudie Neace of Pennington Gap, VA.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM Friday until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA.
