Samuel Jay Combs age 23 of Jonesville, VA was born Sunday, August 14, 1994 in Pennington Gap, VA and passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. He was employed as a corrections officer for Red Onion State Prison in Clintwood, VA and he attended the First Christian Church in Pennington Gap, VA. He loved his family, being a father, husband and all aspects of life. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Sam Combs and his great-aunt Vivian Bledsoe. Sam is survived by his wife Alyssa Combs of the home, his son Samuel Bronson Combs of the home, his mother Sharon Combs, special aunt Karen Combs, brother Jacob Combs and grandmother Wanda Combs. He is also survived by his mothers-in-law Brenda Koon and Tina Kelly, fathers-in-law Winstson Kelly and Chris Koon, brother-in-law Winstson Kelly, sister-in-law Madison Koon, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and his father Tony Rash of Jonesville, VA. The family request no flowers but memories and pictures of Samuel.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Province Funeral Home in Jonesville, VA with Bob Richards officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Sunday until the time of the service.
