Sarah Josephine (Carter) Jerrell

Sarah Josephine Carter Jerrell, age 90 of Jonesville, VA, was born on Wednesday, July 30, 1924 in Lee County, VA and went to be with her Lord, on Friday, April 17, 2015. She was a member of Thompson Settlement Missionary Baptist Church of Jonesville where she had served as clerk for many years and was active until declining health kept her from attending. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer P. Jerrell, parents, George and Lucretia Carter, five brothers, Smith B., Frank, Robert, Joseph and Charles, one sister, Mrs. Bertha Fortner. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn, of Jonesville, VA, special friend, Mrs. Sarah Minor, a large loving church family, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday night, 5 to 7 PM at the Province Funeral Home in Jonesville. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday with Pastor Stephen Neff officiating. The graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 noon Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
