Virgil H. Smith

Virgil H. Smith, age 70, of the Ocoonita Community in Jonesville, VA. Passed away at his home February 16, 2018. He was born July 14, 1947 to the late John B. and Bonnie Smith, also preceded in death by one sister Barbara. He was saved on June 24, 1999 and was a member of the Ocoonita Missionary Baptist Church until its closing in October 2016. He was at his death, attending Ocoonita Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Teresa, which on February 23, 2018 would have been 22 years. Four sisters, Wilma Thomas and husband Johnny of Bristol, VA, Judy Smith of Bristol, VA, Gloria Watson and husband Ken of Deep Gap, NC and Loretta Whiteside and husband Ronnie of Rutherfordton, NC one niece, Courtney Rich and husband Luke, two nephews Justin and Casey Whiteside all of North Carolina. One great-niece Rachael Rich and one great nephew Wyatt Rich and a host of friends. At his request there will be no visitation, but a simple graveside service at the Occonita Cemetery in Jonesville,VA on Tuesday, February 20,2018. with Paul Davis Jr. officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 PM Inliue of flowers the family request that you give to your church and help others.
