William “Bill” Parks, age 70 of the Puckett’s Creek Community of Pennington Gap, VA was born in Pennington Gap, VA on Saturday, March 22nd, 1947 and passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bill was a U.S.M.C veteran, a member of the Teamsters Union 957 and was a truck driver before retiring. Bill was also a member of the Meadow Fork Baptist Church where he taught the adult Sunday school class. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Berlie and Dorothy Parks. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Parks of the home; one son, Berlie E. Parks and wife, Deva of Bright, IN; three grandchildren, Lauren, Sonja and Kassady Parks and one brother, Harold “Gene” Parks and wife, Mary of Covington, KY. Bill is also survived by many friends that will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 27th, 2018 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap with Rev. David Parsons officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. Tuesday until time of services. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
