Aubrey Russell “A.R.” Blevins age 90 of Jonesville, VA was born in Elkhorn, WV on Monday, January 14, 1929 and passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He retired after 40 years from Old Dominion Power Co., a member and an Elder of the First Christian Church in Pennington Gap, VA. He was also a councilman for the town of Jonesville, VA, a member of the Miles Lodge #165 AF&AM Masonic Lodge. He loved to garden, mow and his horses. He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine “Lucy” Blevins, parents Vance and Nonnie Mae Blevins, two brothers Buford and Elmer Blevins and two sisters Louise Stamper and Lizzie Clark. A.R. is survived by one son Darryl Blevins and wife, Glenna of Harrodsburg, KY, four daughters Kathie Phillips and husband, Robert of Dandridge, TN, Carol Self and husband, Ken of Salem, NH, Connie Curtis and husband, Danny of Lexington, KY and Donna Lewis and husband, Peanut of Kingsport, TN, nine grandchildren Paula Welch, Robin Collins, Shawna Swiney, Jeffrey Collins, Lisa Bramhall, Blane Blevins, Seth Blevins, Kaela Vines and Daniel Lewis, sixteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Pennington Gap, VA. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bob Richards to officiate.
