Betty Gay Calton

Betty Gay Calton, age 74 of the Woodway Community was born in St. Charles, VA on Tuesday, May 2, 1944 and departed this life on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She was a retired nurse, and a homemaker. She was also a member of the Pennington Church of God in Pennington Gap, VA. Betty truly loved life and enjoyed simple pleasures; painting, sewing and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Griffin, sister Loretta Woodward and brother Dillard Griffin.  Betty is survived by her husband, Millard “Guy” Calton of the home; two sons, Junior Calton of Woodway, VA and Michael Calton of Bluefield, WV; two daughters, Angela Lewis and husband, Gary of Pennington Gap, VA and Nancy Calton of Dryden, VA;  sister Crystal Robbins of Grovetown, GA; brother Reed Griffin of South Branch, MI; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews and many friends.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Pennington Gap Church of God. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
