Clyde Earl Baumgardner

Clyde Earl Baumgardner, age 84 of the Woodway Community of Pennington Gap was born in Chattanooga, TN on Friday, March 24, 1933 and passed away at The Waters of Johnson City nursing home in Johnson City, TN on Wednesday, November 6, 2017. Clyde was a retired butcher, a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and was of the Holiness faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bessie Desha Baumgardner; four brothers Robert, Nathan, Lewis and Charles Baumgardner, and four sisters Margaret Gibson, Gerogia Pippin, Ethel and Bertha Baumgardner, nieces and nephews Loretta and Sally Baumgardner and Eugene Baumgardner.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Blanche Baumgardner, of the home; two step-sons, Jeff Kirk and wife Andrea of Big Stone Gap, VA ; Mike Kirk and wife, Charlotte of Ashboro, NC and two step-grandchildren, Derrick Kirk and Amanda Kirk; his nephews, Donnie Baumgardner, Robert Baumgardner, Michael Baumgardner, Charles Baumgardner, George (Joe) Baumgardner, Terry Baumgardner, Eric Baumgardner and David Gibson, his nieces, Mary "Kathy" Williams, Lynn Bellamy, Charlotte Kirk, Barbara Ashwood, Brenda Christian, Lynda Jackson and Susie Baumgardner and a host of other family and friends.

A military graveside service will be held Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the Baumgardner Cemetery on Ward Hill in Pennington Gap, VA. Military Rites will be conducted by the local VFW Post #5715 and the National Guard Honors Team. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 noon Thursday to go to the cemetery.
