Donnie Wayne Cox, Sr.

Donnie Wayne Cox, Sr. age 58 of Pennington Gap, VA was born Saturday, February 14, 1959 in Pennington Gap and passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home. He worked as a coal miner for several years then made the change to commercial construction. He lived in the woodway community of Pennington Gap. Survived by his wife Robin Cox of the home, three sons Donnie Cox Jr and wife Jessica of Pennington Gap, David Cox and Daniel Cox also of Pennington Gap and one Daughter Deanna Foster and husband David Foster of the Big Hill Community Eleven grandchildren Bryston Trent, Keylee Cox, Kayelee Delph, Logan Trent, Zoe Cox, Phillip Scalf, Chloe Trent, Zoe Trent, Donnie Cox III, Jesse Cox, and Jaxon Cox. He is also survived by one sister Juanita Smith of Noblesville, Indiana. Preceded in death by his parents Robert Cox and Louella Mae Cox of Pennington Gap, two sisters Barbara Delph of Hammond Indiana and Faye Harless of Pennington Gap, brothers Danny Cox, Guy Cox, Hershal Cox, Carl Herman Cox, Bud Cox, and W.D. Cox all of Pennington Gap, Jimmy Cox, Bobby Cox of Nolbesville Indiana and Bud Cox of Middletown Ohio, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM with David Ely officiating. Burial will follow at the Pennington Memorial Cemetery in Pennington Gap, VA.
