Eddie "Hippy" Brooks

Eddie “Hippy” Brooks age 62 of the Cooney Hollow Community in Jonesville, VA was born Friday, September 3, 1954 in Sneedville, TN and passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at his home. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Willis Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents J.L. and Dorothy Brooks, one brother Dennis Brooks and two fur babies Bandit and Taz. Eddie is survived by his wife Patsy Brooks of the home, one brother Ray Brooks and wife, Nina of Rogersville, TN, two sisters Deidra Brooks and Latrisha Brooks both of Tennessee, special nieces and nephews Jody, Amber and Mackenzi, Chad, Mark, one fur baby Pebbles and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Tuesday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
