Helen Bowlin

Helen Bowlin age 74 of St. Charles, VA was born Tuesday, December 16, 1943 in Hickman, KY and went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Holston Valley Medial Center in Kingsport, TN. Helen was a mother and a longtime Pastors wife and had lived in Lee County for nearly 40 years. She had worked as a substitute teacher for the Lee County School System for 18 years and was a member of the Beacon Light Baptist Church in the Monarch Community of St. Charles where her husband was Pastor for 39 years. She was preceded in death by her son Ronnie Patterson, parents Frankie and Ruby Dodds, sisters Mary, Francis, Roberta and brothers Frankie, Jr. and Charles. Helen is survived by her husband Rev. Ray Bowlin, sons Allen Bowlin, Terry Patterson and Jeff Bowlin, a daughter Debbie Bowlin, several grandchildren and three sisters Anna Belle Gibson, Nana Belle Readenour and Freda Jones.

A Funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Rev. Ira Clark to officiate and Rev. Jeff Bowlin to hold the committal. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Friday until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Woodway, VA.
