Jack Ellis Vanover age 80 of Big Stone Gap, VA and recently of Lee County was born Friday, September 3, 1937 in Dryden, VA and passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap, VA. He had been a farmer and loved spending time with his dog Pinky. He was preceded in death by his parents Garfield and Nancy Vanover, one daughter Jackie Vanover, two brothers Junior Vanover, Paul Vanover, two sisters Jewell Phillips and Beatrice Musick. Jack is survived by two daughters Brenda Crider of Woodway, VA, Rebecca Maggard and husband, Isaiah of Big Stone Gap, VA, Step-daughter Angel Shumaker, six grandchildren Ashley Webb, Savannah Tabor, Larissa Crider, Josh Vanover, Paige Gibbons, Stella Gibbons and one great-grandchild Timothy Derrick Ellis Vanover; one sister, Betty Greubel of Jonesville, VA and one brother, Freddy Vanover of Xenia, OH.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Butchers Fork Cattle Ranch in Big Stone Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating.
