Jerry Lynn Stapleton

Jerry Lynn Stapleton age 66 of Dryden, VA was born Monday, July 28, 1952 in Lee County, VA and passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He had been a coal miner and of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents Buford and Zessie Stapleton, two brothers Clinton Stapleton, Carl Wade Stapleton and one sister Peggy Stapleton. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Doss) Stapleton of the home, one daughter Christi Stapleton of Dryden, VA and companion, Clay Speck, one son Jerry Allen Stapleton of Fayetteville, NC, one sister Elizabeth Myers and husband, Bill of Jonesville, VA, two special nieces whom he loved as his granddaughters, Rilee and Abbie, several nieces, nephews, family and a host of many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday. A graveside service will be at 12:00 Noon Thursday at Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday to go to the cemetery.
