Joan Beatrice (Napier) Bush of Keokee, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas at the home of her daughter Katherine and husband, Danny Copeland. She was surrounded by her loving family by her side. Joan was born in Keokee, Virginia on October 12, 1939 to Milton and Beatrice Napier. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of Hurricane Old Regular Baptist Church in Wise, Virginia. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Beatrice (Stewart) Napier, infant son, Ronald Keith Bush, sisters, Janet Kelly, Louvelle Napier, and brothers George, Merle, JC, Poe, Bob, Bill, and Evan Napier. Survivors include: her loving and faithful husband, Emerson Bush, Jr., Keokee, Virginia; her loving daughters, Katherine (Bush) Copeland and husband, Danny, San Antonio, Texas; Sherri Bush, Keokee, Virginia; and her loving son, Anthony Bush and wife, Joan, Graham, Washington. Loving grandchildren: Andrea Leigh Steinman and husband, Adam, San Antonio, Texas; William Harvey Short, Jr. and wife, Kelsey, Tallahassee, Florida; Regan Rachelle Finney and husband, Bryce, Tacoma, Washington; Jacqueline Renee Beauchamp and husband, James, Puyallup, Washington; Carrie Buley and husband Chris, McKinney, Texas; and Leslie McCallum and husband, Brandon, Corinth, Texas. Great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly: Audrey Ann and Adalynn Grace Steinman, San Antonio, Texas; Brennan James, Bennett David, and Emmy Elizabeth Beauchamp, Puyallup Washington; Austin Buley and Spencer Buley, McKinney, Texas; and Leah McCallum and Lindsey McCallum, Corinth, Texas. One brother, Elder Rex Berl Napier and wife, Brenda, East Bank, West Virginia; and three sisters, Ann Bush and husband, Russell, Closplint, Kentucky; Sharon Napier, Keokee, Virginia; and Jean Collins, Martinsville, Indiana. Many loving nieces, nephews, family members, church family, and friends.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, Virginia. The funeral will be officiated by the Elders of the Old Regular Baptist Church at Province Funeral Home on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Anderson Cemetery, Keokee, Virginia.
