John H. Myers Sr.

John H. Myers, age 97 of Pennington Gap, VA was born in Pennington Gap on Friday, October 7, 1921 and departed this life on September 1, 2018 at the Lee Health and rehab in Pennington gap, VA. John was a avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to watch his grandson play basketball, baseball and play music. John was a farmer in Lee County where he loved to grow tobacco and raise cattle. He always worked for himself and always took pride in being self-sufficient. He spent his career assisting people with their insurance needs. He was a member of the Miles #165 AF&AM Masonic Lodge of Pennington gap, VA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Livesay Myers; his parents, L.O. Myers and Stella Blair Myers; his sister, Pauline Daugherty; four brothers, Joe, Ralph, Creed and Earl Myers. John is survived by his son, John H. Myers Jr. and wife Stephanie of Pennington Gap, VA; his grandson, Johnny Myers and one sister.

A funeral service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until time of the service. The family request a private family burial.
