Judy Carol "Mammy" Smith

Judy Carol “Mammy” Smith age 55 of Pennington Gap, VA was born Saturday, January 13, 1962 in Dryden, VA and passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at her home. She was a former employee of Pennington Middle School and was a member of the Admant Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents L.E. and Anna Robinette. Judy is survived by her husband Rick Smith of the home, one son Kevin Hobbs and wife, Michelle of Appalachia, VA and six grandchildren Riley, Kealy, Blaise, Paislee, Allen, Kennedie-Mae. She is also survived by one brother David Robinette of Dryden, VA, three sisters Debra Rhea of Pennington Gap, VA, Mary Sharett and husband, Gary of Dryden, VA and Lisa Stevens and husband, Rodney of Pennington Gap, VA.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Mark Tabor officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Hidden Valley Cemetery in Pennington Gap, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:00 AM Saturday to go to the cemetery.
