Leonard Jackson Harless

Leonard Jackson Harless, age 51 of Stickleyville, VA passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at UVA in Charlottesville, VA following an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pennington Gap, VA on Saturday, January 28, 1967 and was the son of Barbara (Perdue) Harless and the late Dillard Harless. Prior to his illness he served as the Chief of Jasper Volunteer Fire Department. Leonard loved his family and enjoyed watching wrestling and NASCAR racing. In addition to his mother, Leonard is also survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Shane) Hass; son, Lee Harless; stepchildren, Kelly Smith and Courtney (Nathan) Hay, grandson, Oliver Hass; step-grandson, Logan Hay; brothers, Timmy (Kim) Harless, Tommy Harless and Junior Harless; and one sister Angela Harless; nephews, Alex Cody, Austin Harless, Daren Harless and Zach Cody; nieces, Ashely Harless and Kayla Harless; a special friend and caretaker, Belinda Robbins and special neighbors, Paula and Charles Ayers.

Visitation with Honor Guard will be held at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow with Otto Gibson and Nathan Hay officiating. Music will be provided by Belinda Robbins and the Hass Family. Graveside services will follow the funeral service with the Honor Guard of the Jasper Fire Department providing a last call at the Litton Cemetery in Stickleyville, VA. Timmy Harless, Junior Harless, Alex Cody, Austin Harless, Daren Harless and Shane Hass will serve as pallbearers. Tommy Harless will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Leonard’s friends and family that supported and encouraged him through his illness.
