Lois Anne (Bowman) Hubbard

Lois Anne (Bowman) Hubbard, age 74, of Pennington Gap, VA went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 6, 2019 after an extended illness.

Lois was born in the V.I.C. community of St. Charles, VA on April 18, 1945, and has lived in Lee County, VA for most of her life. Over the years, Lois has worked at various jobs in Lee and Scott counties to help support herself and her family. She was an excellent seamstress, interior decorator and craftsperson.

Lois was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church of God at Pucketts Creek. During the past 4 years, she attended the First Baptist Church at St. Charles, VA with her husband, Richard Hubbard.

Lois was a faithful and loving wife. She was a wonderful mother, who put the needs of her children above her own. She adored her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Lois was a kind and compassionate person who was loved by many. She will be greatly missed.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Nola Mae (Lambert) Bowman, and by her infant daughter, Chanda Elwanda Belcher.

Lois is survived by her husband, Richard Hubbard, and her four children: Ada JoAnne (Belcher) Ewing and husband, Jimmy; Bobby Steve Belcher, Jr. and wife, Delores; Joseph Lee Belcher and wife, Amanda; and Lindsay Leanne (Belcher) Nunley and husband, Michael. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 step-children, 7 step-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12pm to 2 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in the sanctuary of the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019, with Pastor Paul Davis and Rev. Jimmy Ewing, Jr. officiating. Patricia Ewing will sing "Unclouded Day" and "In The Sweet By and By". Burial will follow services at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA.

Pallbearers will be son Joseph Belcher, along with grandsons Joshua Ewing, Brandon Ewing, Aleksander Belcher, Jason Nunley, and son-in-law Michael Nunley. Grandson, James Nunley, will serve as honorary pallbearer. Step-son, James Hubbard, will serve as substitute pallbearer if needed.
