Medie Jane Brooks

Medie Jane Brooks, age 59, of Ewing, VA was born in Middlesboro, KY on Tuesday, September 23, 1958 and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at her home. Medie was a loving housewife, mother and mamaw. She was a songwriter where she enjoyed writing gospel music and going to church. For the past 37 years she was a member of the Brooks Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Ewing, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Martin; brother, Bobby Martin and infant brother, Teddy Ray Martin; her infant grandson, Matthew Ramsey; her nephew, Ronnie Martin and her brother-in-law, Kyle Davis. Medie is survived by her husband, Ben Brooks of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth Daniels and husband Kevin of Harrogate, TN and Bessie Seals of Rose Hill, VA; three grandchildren, Tabitha and Elijah Daniels and Megan Ramsey; two brothers, T.B. Martin of Rose Hill, VA and Bill Martin and friend Lila of Ewing, VA; four sisters, Shirley Davis of Rose Hill, VA; Belinda Quillen and husband Harold of Rose Hill, VA; Serita Evans and husband Dale of Lake City, TN and Mary Martin of Nashville, TN; also several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Jonesville, VA with Rev. Ferlion Daniels and Rev. Ronald Adkins officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until time of service Friday. Burial will follow at the Martin Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
