Norma Jean Parsons

Norma Jean Parsons, age 80, of Pennington Gap, VA, was born July 11, 1939 in Pennington Gap, VA and went to her heavenly home October 4, 2019, at Indian Path Hospital in Kingsport, TN. Norma loved her family and was a wonderful Wife and Mother. She was known for her special cooking skills by many that stopped by the concession stands. Norma’s devotion of 40 years was to the Lee East Little League. She always shown her care and concern for many in Lee County and the surrounding communities.

Norma Jean is preceded in death by her husband Billy "Backer Joe" Parsons; her son Billy "Pwetzel" Parsons; her daughter-in-law Glennda and granddaughter Asia Lashea Parsons; her father and mother Frank and Evelyn Brummitt; her sisters Nennie, Merge and Shirley and her brother Darrell.

Norma is survived by her sons Chuck Parsons and wife Jane of Pennington Gap, VA, Jeff Parsons of Fredericksburg, VA, Joe Parsons of Pennington Gap, VA, Pat Parsons of Pennington Gap, VA, Hunter Stewart of Pennington Gap, VA; her daughters Misty Parsons and Nikki Parsons both of Pennington Gap, VA, Jessica Parsons of Dryden, VA; her brother Jimmy; her sister Janie; 15 grandchildren and many extended family and friends. Special friends are Woody and Cathy Woods, Shirley Taylor, Bob Shuler and Betty Bowen.

Visitation will be Monday, October 7, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. in the chapel of Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. and Pastor Jeff Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
