Ransom Shuler, age 55 of Dryden, VA was born in Dryden, VA on Wednesday, January 16, 1963 and passed away suddenly on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Holston Valley medical Center in Kingsport, TN. Ransom worked as a security guard for A & A Security and he enjoyed life, loved his family, dogs, deer hunting and working. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Shuler; his grandmother, Rebecca Ely and his aunt and uncle, Joyce and James Hawthorn. Ransom is survived by his wife, Rhonda Shuler of the home; his mother, Anna Ruth Shuler of Dryden, VA; one brother, Yancy Shuler and wife Regina of Lexington, NC and four sisters, Linda Lewis and husband Bobby of Pennington Gap, VA; Shirley Parsons and husband Verlin of Jonesville, VA; Rebecca Carter and husband Guy of Dryden, VA and Wanda Kleinick and husband Jeff of Lexington, NC. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, a host of friends and two special friends, Roy and April Bledsoe of Dryden, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Rev. Will Parsons officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until time of services Saturday. Burial will follow at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
