Ravin D. Jones

Ravin D. Jones age 70 of the Kemmer Gem Community of St. Charles, VA was born Sunday, March 28, 1948 in St. Charles, VA and passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA. He had been a coal miner, a member of the Southern Union and a member of the St. Charles Baptist Church. Ravin loved to fish and read the Bible.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Fannie Jones and his close friend Jr. "June Bug" Smith.

Ravin is survived by his wife of 47 years Brenda Jones of the home, two daughters Angela Taylor and husband, Danny of St. Charles, VA and Monica Middleton of Jonesville, VA, three grandchildren Corey Taylor and wife, Rebecca of Jonesville, VA, Matthew Johnson of Jonesville, VA and Sheridan Middleton of Jonesville, VA, two great-grandchildren Raelyn Taylor and Addie Byington. He is also survived by two brothers Jerry Jones of St. Charles, VA, Ran Jones of Knoxville, TN, two sisters Violet Parsons of St. Charles, VA, Brenda Jones of Dryden, VA, special friend Ray Hobbs and many other relative and friends.

At Ravin’s request he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 8:00 PM Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Thursday until the time of the service.
