Roberta Golden Gibson

Roberta Golden Gibson age 94 of Detroit, MI was born in Pennington Gap, VA on Saturday, June 14, 1924 and passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, MI. She was a resident of Pennington Gap, VA until the past five years and was of the Christian Faith. Roberta was a beautiful, strong, loving woman who took care of many of her own family members. She had a beautiful smile and big blue eyes. She loved many and was loved by many, and she was a praying woman who loved Jesus. She was preceded in death by her husband B. Lester Gibson, one son Billy Ray Gibson, a granddaughter Heather Gibson, two sisters Edith Shuler and Evelyn Laningham, and one brother Lester Jordan. Roberta is survived by one son Harold David Gibson of Painesville, OH, two daughters Loretta Jane Kinser and husband, Benjamin Thomas of Detroit, MI, Wilma Jean Vuono and husband, Ron, of Fredericktown, PA, 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, one brother Ray Jordan of Mentor, OH and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. A funeral service will follow with Rev. Jim Ewing officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Myers Cemetery in Pennington Gap, VA.
