Wendy Pamela (Hines) Sword age 44 of Pennington Gap, VA was born Wednesday, November 5, 1975 in Big Stone Gap, VA and passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA. Wendy was a member of the First Christian Church and will be loved and missed by her husband. She was preceded in death by her father Bobby Hines, paternal grandparents Harry and Maurine Hines, maternal grandparents Lee and Clara Powers. Wendy is survived by her husband David Sword of the home, mother Sandy Hines of Jonesville, VA, one daughter Hailee Mann of Pennington Gap, VA, four grandchildren Eli, Ariana, Harper and Braxton, four brothers Rob Hines and wife, Rebecca of Jonesville, VA, Shawn Hines and wife, Summer of Jonesville, VA, Chris Hines and wife, Reba of Jonesville, VA and Tyler Tindell of Big Stone Gap, VA.

At the request of the family Wendy will be cremated. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Pennington Gap, VA. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Bob Richards officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Lee County Public Schools in memory of Wendy Hines Sword for the Addiction and Substance Abuse Program.
