William "Otis" Belcher

William "Otis" Belcher, age 68, of the Blaircroft Community in Woodway, VA was born in LeJunior, KY on Thursday, August 17, 1950 and departed this life on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a retired school principal of Harlan County, KY and continued his career as principal of the Lee County School System for several years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 897 and a member of the First Baptist Church in Pennington Gap, VA. William was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Belcher and Wilma Dotson; one brother, Dennis Dotson and one sister, Susie Proutey. William is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Belcher of the home; two daughters, Lisa Ann Carroll and husband Jim and Shannon Williams and husband Donnie, all of Pennington Gap, VA; four grandsons, Hunter Belcher-Carroll, Andrew Williams, Aaron Williams and Kendrick Carroll and two granddaughters, Adessa Ramsey and Haleigh Carroll; three great-grandchildren, Emma Maness, Maci Cheek and Nolan Belcher-Carroll; two brothers, Danny Napier and Bill Napier; also special friends Leeland Branch, Jeff Roberts and Jerry Sweeney.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Pennington Gap, VA with Pastor Josh Osteen officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 P.M. Thursday to go to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
