Dallas Caudill Obituary

Dallas Caudill, 59 of Dryden, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Bristol Medical Center. He was the husband to the late Joyce Elaine Caudill for 32 years and father to his late infant son, Adam Paul Caudill. Dallas was born March 9, 1962 in Dryden, VA and son of the late Ashford Caudill and Maxie Slemp. Dallas worked in the coal mines of Kentucky for many years before he was injured in an accident inside the mine. Later in his life he enrolled at Mountain Empire Community College where he obtained a Certified Public Accounting degree. He was a substitute teacher for Lee County Public Schools for a few years and IGA Grocery Store in Jonesville, VA as the manager. Dallas is survived by his children, Steven Glenn Caudill and his wife Shelly of Forest, VA and Carolyn Noah and her husband Jeff of Nashville, TN, six grandchildren, Meghan Caudill of Forest, VA, Brooke Caudill of Powder Springs, GA, Tyler White of Forest, VA, Kayla Jenkins of Tazwell, TN, Josh Ayers of Rose Hill, VA and Alex Noah of Tazwell, TN Dallas also leaves behind six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Hester Gibson Delph, maternal grandfather, Murphy Delph, Enoch and Clara Caudill, sister, Brenda Dearry, and two brothers, Johnny Caudill and Daniel Caudill. In addition to his mother, Maxie Slemp of Big Stone Gap, VA, Dallas also leaves behind two sisters, Patricia Hendricks and husband Mike of Jonesville, VA and Caroline Langley and husband Les of Jonesville, VA and two brothers, Glenn Dearry of Big Stone Gap, VA and Jack Dearry of Big Stone Gap, VA. The family would like to thank the staff at Norton Community Hospital and Bristol Medical Center for their special care given to Dallas during these last two months while he was unable to have visitors due to his health. They were exceptionally informative and compassionate for his situation. Dallas did not want to have a funeral service so the family is honoring his wish and will lay him to rest at Jones Cemetery beside his beloved wife, Joyce.
