Darrell Lee Artrip

Darrell Lee Artrip age 62 of Keokee, VA was born October 30, 1958 in Big Stone Gap, VA and passed away February 3, 2021 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.

He was a coal miner for several years, a farmer since he was a little boy and loved to hunt, fish and trap. He attended the Keokee Church of God for several years. Darrell was a strong, caring, loving man who never met a stranger.  He was a wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Emmett and Geraldine Artrip, and one brother Kenneth Artrip.

Darrell is survived by his wife Sharon Artrip of the home, two sons Travis Artrip and Steven Artrip both of the home, one daughter Kelly Artrip of the home, and one grandson William Wagner of the home. He is also survived by four sisters Nina Woods and husband, Honk of Dryden, VA, Teresa Ward and husband, Charles of Big Stone Gap, VA, Regina Massengill and husband, Bill of Keokee, VA, Pam Hilton and husband Robert Estep of Kingsport, TN and a sister-in-law Debbye Artrip.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 8, 2021 at Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA with Bill McDonald officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 PM Monday for the service. Due to Covid-19 state regulations, there are only 10 people allowed inside the funeral home and at the cemetery, those attending the visitation and funerals at Province Funeral Homes are asked to wear mask/facial covering. Social distancing guidelines will also be in place.
