Earl Franklin Parsons

Earl Franklin Parsons, age 84, of St. Charles, VA, was born on March 30, 1936 in Lee County, VA and went to his heavenly home on Friday, September 25, 2020 at his home in St. Charles, VA. Earl was a coalminer and loved to hunt his coon dogs. He loved his family and community and had many friends. 

Earl is preceded in death by his wife Loretta Parsons; his parents Emory and Hazel Parsons; his granddaughter Mandy Parsons Jessee; his brothers, Claude Parsons, Hans Parsons, Phillip Parsons, Danny Parsons, William Parsons and Jessee Parsons; his sisters Alberta Flanary, Deloria Cochran and Della Parsons.

Earl is survived by his children Donnie Parsons of St. Charles, VA, Judy Shirks and husband Roger of St. Charles, VA, Wayne Parsons and wife Melissa of Jonesville, VA, Gloria Longsworth of St. Charles, VA, Jackie Parsons of Sticklyville, VA, Tyke Parsons and wife Vicki of Jonesville, VA; his grandchildren, Shawn Shirks and wife Karen, Kevin Shirks, Eric Shirks and wife Brittany, Jennifer Parsons Stapleton, Tiffany Slusher and husband Bobby, Kimberly Hounshell and husband Jordan, Ashley Mullins and husband Jimmy, Julie Ely and husband Mark, Brandon Longsworth, Leslie Miles and husband Eric; 21 great-grandchildren; his sisters Gearldean Salyers and husband Bill of Noblesville, IN and Joyce Ewing and husband Ronnie of Noblesville, IN; many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2020, at 12-2 p.m. at the Province Funeral Home Chapel in Pennington Gap, VA. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. with Pastor Roy Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper-Parsons Cemetery in Puckett Creek in Pennington Gap, VA.
