Elwood C. Tester

1947 - 2021


Elwood C. Tester age 73 of Jonesville, VA was born June 15, 1947 in Pennington Gap, VA and passed away March 30, 2021 at the Mountain Home VA Center in Mountain Home, TN.

He had been a Veteran for the US Army and a Nuclear engineer. He was preceded in death by his parents Gurney and Maude Tester, brothers Shelton, Harry, Daniel and Raymond Tester,  sisters Ella Mae Patterson and Virginia Maddle. Elwood is survived by three brothers Charlie Tester of Dayton, OH, Richard Tester of Dayton, OH and William Tester of Pennington Gap, VA and one sister Geraldine Floyd of St. Charles, VA. Elwood C. Tester will be cremated with his ashes scattered at a later date.

I worked with Woody at Bettis and he always had a smile on his face. He was the kindest most thoughtful person . He will be sadly missed. It was an honor an pleasure to have known him. A true Southern Gentleman!! Rest in peace my friend!!!!!!!!!

I knew and worked with “Woody” for many years while at Bettis Laboratory. He was a true gentleman and a wonderful person. We kept in touch after he retired for awhile. His heart was as big as his smile. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
