Gary Samuel Fausnight born in Akron, Ohio May 22nd, 1945; a simple man who didn’t know a stranger. He loved God, his family, and country. He peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 18th, 2020 at his home in Pennington Gap, VA surrounded by his family. Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Fausnight was a former employee for Tom’s chips delivery and Pepsi Bottling Co. Gary was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Pennington Gap, and an active member in the Odd Fellows Lodge of Woodway, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Mildred, adopted son Charles Adam Cantor, and two brothers Jim and Bill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda; two daughters Amanda and Wayne Scott of Gray, TN and Shelley of Alcoa, TN; two grandsons, who were his world, Austin and Tyler Scott of Johnson City, TN and granddog "Baby" Millie; two brothers Dick (Barbara) Fausnight of New Franklin, Ohio and Tom (Maureen) Fausnight of Kingman, Arizona; sister Carol (Mark) Bonko of Uniontown, Ohio. Along with loving aunt Georgia and uncle Carl Shell, of Pennington Gap, VA, little buddies Journey, Maddox, Nevaeh, and many special cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Friends and family are welcomed to visit the residence at any time.
