Genoia Richard Dearry a GOD fearing man, age 64, was born on Sunday, October 30, 1955 in Dryden, Virginia. He passed, unexpectedly, Sunday, September 6, 2020 due to complications from surgery. He moved to central Virginia to work for the department of corrections where he retired as a lieutenant after 29 years and 6 months of faithful service. He was also a licensed contractor and a natural born engineer. Greatest of all, he was an incredibly devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather to his wife Kathy, daughters Amanda & Elizabeth and granddaughter Cydaylyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan & Estelle Deary; brothers James Dearry and Faire Deary; sisters Reba Bates and Ellen Chittum and faither-in-law Samuel Holmes.
He is survived by wife Katherine Holmes Dearry; daughters Amanda Yvonne Dearry and Katherine Elizabeth Dearry and his gift from God granddaughter Cydaylyn Estelle Yvonne Dearry; his brothers and sisters, Omea Thompson, Truman Deary, Mary Helen Dearry and Tony Deary (Robin); mother-in-law Marcella Holmes; brother and sister-in-laws, Gordon Holmes, Debbie Banks (Kyth) and Jane Holmes and many beloved nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Friday, September 11, 2020 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. A funeral service will be at 3:00 PM with Jason Wall officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan-Deary Cemetery in Dryden, VA.
