Glen Newton Obituary

Glen Howard Newton (87) of Pennington Gap was born March 3rd 1935 in St Charles VA and passed away May 19th 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City TN. Glen was preceded in death by his Father Benjamin Newton and his Mother Delia Flannery. Sisters Jean Wilson, Nancy Garett & Zola Fields. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 68 years, Gladys Sue Newton of Pennington Gap VA. His children: Daughter - Glennis Moore & Husband Junior Moore of Jonesville VA, Daughter - Sharon Newton of Findlay Ohio, Son - Walt Newton of Findlay Ohio and Son - Michael Newton & Wife Christy Newton of Blountville TN. His Grandchildren: Lee McNutt of Lima Ohio, Jason McNutt & Isaiah McNutt of Findlay Ohio, Laura Moore of Jonesville VA, Jacob Newton & Megan Greer or McComb Ohio, Cory Newton & Chloe Newton of Blountville TN and 8 Great Grand Children all of Ohio. Glen loved listening to music, watching westerns and spoiling his grandchildren with all of the candy he could get his hands on. He was well known in the local automotive community for his outstanding upholstery work. He was also known for his many years of work managing many movie theaters such as The Skylight Drive-in Portage Ohio, Lee Theatre in Pennington Gap VA, The Clazel Theatre and Stadium Cinema 1 & 2 in Bowling Green Ohio, and The Virginia Theater in North Baltimore Ohio.

 

Graveside services will be held at 10AM on Tuesday May 24th , 2022 at  Lee Memorial Gardens in  Woodway, VA. Friends and family are invited to attend. Services will be officiated by Paul Davis of First Baptist Church of St Charles VA.
