Hampton Junior Hurd

Hampton Junior Hurd age 69 of Pennington Gap, VA, was born October 7, 1952 in Jonesville, VA and parted life on November 22, 2021 at home surrounded by his family and is now with his precious Lord. He worked for G&G, Cas Walkers, Food Lion and Food City, starting at age 16 and retired in 2016 to enjoy being at home. He never knew a stranger, always had a smile on his face, never complained and never asked for anything. He enjoyed watching Westerns on T.V. with a good ole cup of coffee and his dog by his side. Junior was preceded in death by his father Hampton Hurd, Sr., mother Ova Lawson, one brother Doyle Mack Hurd, and one sister Gladys Lovelady.

Junior is survived by his wife of 39 years Linda Hurd of Pennington Gap, VA, one daughter Nikki Hall and husband, Troy of Tennessee, one son Colby Hurd and husband, Ryan Elswick of Kingsport, TN, two sisters Verna Jerrells and husband, David and Erma Willis of Jonesville, VA, brothers-in-law Tommy Sanders and wife, Malenna, Billy Sanders and wife, Misty, sisters-in-law Cindy Crabtree and husband, Richard, Tammy Williams and husband, Garry Steven, and Bella his dog that was his T.V. buddy.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Flower Gap-Johnson Cemetery in Blackwater, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:00 AM to go to the cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Brody Crabtree, Cory Sanders, Justin Williams, Jonathan Hurd, Scott Lovelady and David Wayne Jerrells. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.provincefuneralhome.com.
