Jack Spears

Jack Spears, age 77, passed this life November 18, 2021 at Norton Community Hospital. Jack was a devoted and loving husband and father . He was saved and a member St. Charles First Baptist Church. He was a truck driver by trade he spent most of his career moving and setting mobile homes until his health declined. He was also a coal miner and logger and enjoyed both of them very much. Jack touched many lives in his walk through this world, always helping anyone that required it, and never believed in leaving any need left undone. He never met a stranger. Jack was the son of the late Ora L. Spears and Virgie Maness Spears. Proceeding him in death are eight brothers , Foster, Kelly, Billy, Gene, Bruce, Joe, Ray and Coy Spears, two sisters Charlene Brewer, Oma Davis.  Jack is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Betty Spears of the home. Jack was the proud father of five sons: Chester Spears, and wife Clenna of Ratcliff, KY; Anthony Spears, and wife Ramona of Fort Stockton, TX; David Spears, and wife Beth of Opelousas, LA; Terry Spears, and wife Melissa of Jonesville, VA; Tristen Mullins of the home; two daughters: Jackie Mitchell, and husband Doug; Bobbie Garrett, and husband Mike of Dryden, VA; one sister, Nellie Hoke of Pekin IN, Carol Spears, and wife Tammy of Pennington Gap, VA . He also leaves behind 21 grandkids and 25 great-grandkids that he loved very much and was proud to be called their grandfather.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2021 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM with Paul Davis Jr. officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Spears Family Cemetery in the Big Hill community in Pennington Gap, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
