James David Robbins

James David Robbins, age 72, of Dryden, VA was born April 8, 1948 in St. Charles, VA to Tess and Ilo Robbins. He passed away September 3, 2020 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA.

He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. He served his country and was a Veteran of The United States Army.  He spent most of his life underground in the coal mines.

He married the love of his life Diana.  They had four children together. Melissa (Jeffrey) of Jacksonville, NC. Chris (Latasha) of Asheville, Nc. Matthew (Sarah) of Pennington gap and Mark (Misti) of Ocoonita. He was also blessed with six beautiful grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

David loved to fish for trout. He loved riding his Harley. He was an awesome shot with a gun. He especially loved his little dog Bear. He loved his wife, his family, and his Church. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Diana Frances Robbins, his father Oscar Tessly Robbins, his mother Vera Ilo Robbins and sister Kathy Sue Freeman.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday Sept 9, 2020 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Friends and family are asked to meet at 2:45 p.m. at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.

Due to Covid-19 state regulations, those attending the visitation and funerals at Province Funeral Homes are asked to wear mask/facial covering. Social distancing guidelines will also be in place.
