JONESVILLE, VIRGINIA – Larry Dane Harris, 68, gained his Heavenly wings on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family.

Larry worked many years in the woods logging, retiring after forty-plus years. He enjoyed vacations with his family, cruises being his favorite. He was the best husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to the many who knew and loved him.

He was born in Lee County, Virginia; son of the late Lee Haskel “Hack” and Beulah Carmony Harris. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Berlin Harris, Jimmy Ray Harris and wife, Gale, and John Junior Harris, Sr.; two sisters, Alice Stith and husband, Paul, and his twin sister, Mary Ridings and husband, Charles; one nephew, John Junior Harris, Jr; and one niece, Valerie Davis.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Vickie Lee Harris; two daughters, Ann Blanken and husband, Jeremy of Pennington Gap, Virginia and Lisa Cope and husband, Stephen of Fort Blackmore, Virginia; one son, Ryan Lee Harris and wife, Amanda of Castlewood, Virginia; two sisters, Etta Daugherty and husband, Dennis of Jonesville, Virginia and Margaret Harris of Jonesville, Virginia; five grandchildren, Tristan Harris, Annaica Harris, Kelsey Cope, Gracie Cope, and Ryland Harris; a very special niece, Heather Stamey and husband, PJ and their son, Connor of Jonesville, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Sandy J. Harris; adopted daughter at heart, Jill Graham and husband, Rob and their son, Morgan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends that were like family.

Funeral Services for Larry Dane Harris will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Province Funeral Home Chapel, Pennington Gap, Virginia with Pastor Paul Davis and Pastor Steve Neff officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Preston Lodge #47. Committal Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Bowling Chapel Cemetery, Jonesville, Virginia. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Blanken, Stephen Cope, PJ Stamey, Tristan Harris, Donnie Salyer, and Mickey Hammonds. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Young, Rob Graham, Ryland Harris, Morgan Graham, Connor Stamey and Dennis Daugherty.
