Louis Cecil Audia, age 77, of Pennington Gap, Va passed away late Tuesday evening March 14, 2023 while at the VA Medical Center in Mt. Home, Tennessee
Born in Spokane, Washington July 9, 1945, he was the son of the late Samuel and Marjorie McElyea Audia.
He was a Veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. Honorably discharged he had received numerous commendations and medals including the National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals. He then served his country as a member of the Tennessee Army National Guard primarily as a Legal Clerk
He was a graduate of Berea College having obtained a Business Degree. Later he took graduate courses at East Tennessee State University.
Louis should be remembered as a very knowledgeable and very generous individual. He could converse about any subject and never turned down doing a favor. He proved his love for his family and friends with his actions. Louis loved his kids, his other family, his cat Rascal, 1st Christian Church of Pennington Gap, his community, and the Tennessee Volunteers. He was multi-talented as was shown in the various jobs/roles he filled. At different times, our brother, Louis, was an accountant, Army finance and payroll clerk, a salesman, an agent for Mutual of Omaha, an agent for Southern Railroad, a substitute teacher, a Little League Baseball and Basketball Coach, an office manager, a magistrate for the 30th Judicial Court, and a barge deckhand, helping with surveying for and erecting derricks on oil rigs for Brown and Root in the Gulf of Mexico. However, regardless of his talent and adventure, Louis’s life became its best when he, several years ago, made a conscious effort to follow Jesus Christ, returned to church and began to serve God through church involvement.
