Lydia Harris, age 98, of Ewing, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Jefferson Park Nursing Home in Dandridge, Tennessee. Lydia was born on March 17, 1922 in Ewing, Virginia to the late Charles Tipton Ayers and Hester Mae Chadwell Ayers. She loved to quilt, crochet, and can fresh vegetables. She also loved her family and enjoyed celebrating her birthday on St. Patrick’s Day.
She was preceded in death by her husband Beryl J. Harris, her sisters Elizabeth Ayers, Dorothy “Jack” Witt, Mossie Hubbard, and Vesta Holt, her brothers Shulus Ayers and John D Ayers, her granddaughter Patricia “Doll” Mae Webb, and great grandson Gauge King.
She is survived by her son Amos O’Neill Harris (Brenda) of Edgewood, Maryland and her daughter Juianna Lois Harris Webb (Bill) of Ewing and New Market, Tennessee, 5 grandchildren (Cynthia McClancy (Lynn), Michelle Huddle (Andy), Mike Harris, Bill Harris (Teresa) and Lena Ann Mills (Doug), along with 21 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Monday, May 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Lee Family Cemetery, Rose Hill, Virginia. Friends and Families will meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
