Mary Alice Williams, formerly a Lee County resident, passed away on Tuesday November 23, 2021 at the age of 65 at her home with her family.
Mary Alice is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bill Williams of Jacksboro, Tn. Also by her Daughter and Son-in-Law, Summer & Robbie Horton of Greeneville, Tn. and Granddaughter Brooke Woods also of Greeneville, Tn. Mary Alice is preceded in death by her mother, Alice Kinser; her sister, Terry Oliver; Both grandparents June & John Robbins, Bess & Dillard Kinser
Mary Alice began her work life with the Lee County School system as a Teachers Aide in 1974 until 1979. In 1980 until 1984 she worked for Mullins Coal Company as a bookkeeper. Mary Alice & Bill met and moved to Florida early 1985, and were married July 16th 1988 in Seminole Fl. She attended a Security, Technology and Private Investigation Academy, while she was there she achieved a gold rope in marksmanship becoming the first woman to do so in school history. She worked many years for Coast to Coast Investigations as a Private Investigator and Surveillance Specialist. Upon returning to this area, Mary Alice and Bill opened Race Track Market and Deli in Rogersville Tn from 1995 to 1997 Her last career was with Wal-Mart where she was Market Asset Protection District Manger until she retired in 2007.
Mary Alice loved her family, making strangers smile, and cooking. She loved arrowhead hunting, antiques, each and every excuse to go to the beach, a good cheeseburger from The Patio and any ZZ Top song that came on the radio. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Province Funeral home in Pennington Gap, VA with Steve Neff officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
