Mary Ida Collins

Mary Ida Collins, age 73, of Yorktown, Virginia was born in Pennington Gap, Virginia on March 24,1948 and went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.  She lived in Yorktown, Virginia most of her life and was employed with York County Schools as a bus aid to handicapped, deaf, and blind children for 40 years.

She was preceded in death her parents Benjamin and Susie Hughes McKinney; four brothers Bobby McKinney, Billy H. McKinney, Frankie McKinney, and Jimmy McKinney; six sisters, Bertha Juanita Hammonds, Shirley Ruth Napier, Dessie Tankersley, Susan Reimers, Burnett Mullins, and Helen McKinney.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 55 years, Sidewayne Don Collins; son Roger Dale Collins and wife Anna; daughter Michelle Collins and husband Pablo Garcia; granddaughter Morgan B. Collins; grandson Hunter L. Collins and wife Kayla; granddaughter Marissa F. Collins; grandson Garrett R. Collins; grandson Matthew J. Kane sister Georgia Shell and husband Carl as well as many half siblings, nieces, and nephews.

There will be a graveside service Saturday, September 18th at Bethel Cemetery, 5498 Sugar Run Road in Jonesville Virginia at 10am.  Family and friends will arrive at the Province Funeral Home 29521 Wilderness Road, Jonesville Virginia at 9am and proceed, via procession, to the cemetery.  All are welcome to attend.
