Patsy Huffine

Patsy Ann (Wheeler) Huffine, age 90, of Pennington Gap, Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021, at home, with loving family by her side. Patsy was born in the Leona Mines community and was the daughter of the late Fred and Edna (Collier) Wheeler. Patsy was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Huffine; her daughter, Teresa Huffine; her siblings— Hebert Wheeler, Imogene Yaste, and Toye Wheeler; her nephew and niece Warren Yaste and Karen Bertolotti; and great-niece Shay Yaste. She is survived by her beloved sister-in-law, Virginia Wheeler, nieces and nephews— Debbie (Wheeler) Witsman,  Anita (Wheeler) Marshall (Bob Marshall),  Keith Yaste (Diane Yaste) Alan Wheeler (Greer Wheeler), Regena (Wheeler) Denlinger (Marvin Delinger), and Sharon Yaste; and several great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Patsy graduated from Pennington High School then attended the Knoxville Business College. She worked for the federal government in Washington D.C., from which she retired after 27 years. She retuned home to Pennington Gap in 2010. Patsy enjoyed reading; doing needlework—knitting, cross stitching and crewel embroidery; and working crossword puzzles. She loved having family for meals on Sunday afternoon and when visiting from out-of-town. Patsy was of the Methodist faith.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, April 2, 2021 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA with Rev. John Fultz officiating . Family and  friends wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:15 PM.
