Ray Musick

Ray Musick, age 86, of St. Charles, Virginia was born in St. Charles, Virginia on Saturday, January 25, 1936, and passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in Pennington Gap, VA. Ray worked in the coal mines in Virginia and Kentucky before he married. He then worked for over 45 years at Lee County Community Hospital in Pennington Gap, VA. He was a loving husband and father that cared and provided for his wife and children, no matter what it took to do so. 

Ray was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Puckett Creek. He also loved spending time with his family, along with ginseng hunting, metal detecting, and fishing. Ray was preceded in death by his first-born daughter Diana Music, his parents Jim and Virgie Musick, 4 brothers Eugene, Ralph, James, and Norman, and 3 sisters Norma Jean Musick, Hazel Stewart, and Dorothy Musick.  Ray is also survived by his loving wife Dovie Musick, 2 sons Johnny Musick and Jimmy (Christina) Musick, 2 daughters Lisa (Phil) Nimety and Teresa Littlefield, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters Barbara Lewis and Faye Hall. Also many extended family members and friends.

Graveside/Funeral  services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, August 5, 2022 at Hoover Hill Cemetery in Keokee, VA with James Stapleton. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:45 AM for the service.
